BIO & CV
Working with and against the documentary tradition, I make photographs in response to personal histories, inquiry, observation, and anxieties. My practice is largely concerned with community, looking closely at the ties between the individual/collective and human/nature.
Stacy Arezou Mehrfar is a visual artist working across photography, video and bookmaking. Her photographs and video installations have been exhibited at TEDx, Ethan Cohen KuBE, ClampArt, ICP, Australian Centre of Photography, and Obscura Festival, and have been published in the British Journal of Photography, Aint Bad, Der Greif, and Artist Profile. She is the recipient of the Australian Post Graduate Award, Arts New South Wales Grant, and the National Association for the Visual Arts Grant. Her second photobook, The Moon Belongs to Everyone, published by GOST Books, will be released in Spring 2021. Stacy is faculty at ICP and School of Visual Arts.
